Welcome to Happy Hoops!
Building Community, One Basket at a Time! 🏀
"I don't know what I'm going to do tomorrow. I just know for sure I'm going to keep playing basketball."
- Kevin Durant
About Happy Hoops
Our goal with Happy Hoops is to create free co-ed basketball programs for teens with special needs. We want to create ways for High School students to connect with their community, while also having fun.
We like to establish monthly basketball programs which both the volunteers and players look forward to and enjoy. We want to find ways to bring our community closer together, and what better way is there to do that than with basketball.
Once we establish an interest, we will work with your organization to best accommodate needs and opportunities. We offer free branded gear for our team members and have already received support and participation from students across the country.
More About Happy Hoops
We start by assembling a team of students in and around the neighborhood to participate in the program. Depending on pre-existing program parameters, teams could meet every month, thereby allowing participants some flexibility with regards to attendance. We identify, approach and secure special guests to join us throughout the program, such as school coaches and former college players. Finally, the hope is always to grow the program in reach and scope, building both participants and partner organizations.
Our Program (60 Minute Session)
- 10 Minutes: Intros & Ice Breakers
- 20 Minutes: Warm-Ups & Drills
- 20 Minutes Game Time!
- 10 Minutes: Drinks & Dialogue
Testimonial
"As the Coordinator of our teen inclusive social, recreational, and prevocational programs at the Center for Diverse Abilities, I am always looking for ways to expand our program offerings. When Ethan and Noah presented their program to me, I knew it would be a wonderful fit for the JCC and our teen community. Ethan and Noah's hard work to create this inclusive program has allowed many teenagers of all abilities a chance to come together, form meaningful friendships, learn basketball skills, and most importantly, have fun! We cannot wait to see how this partnership and program continues to expand and impact many people."
